 That's right...it was just my luck! Poor Ivy was ill, I had to go and look after her, but it's ok... I asked Pab Roberts (aka Voice of Ralph) to step into my shoes instead and he apparently had a lovely time, though a few people were suspicious that he wasn't actually 8! He apparently got chatting with some lovely politicians and great authors and generally looked fabulous in a pair of tights and a cape. I hear that someone called George did a great cat impression for El Ashfield to draw and there were superhero stances a-plenty, with quite a few mums and dads making their own masks!

 I'm really looking forward to meeting you at the Borders Book Festival, Melrose.....don't forget now, 4pm this Saturday 19th June. GOODNESS! I haven't ironed my cape!!! Rx

Wait a moment!! Bumped into Corinne V. Davies the other day (the author) who was clutching a bouquet of flowers after being invited to present the annual prizes and trophies to the Edinburgh Girls Brigade. HOW COME THEY DIDN'T ASK ME? ...That would have been my kind of gig!! Rx

 Well, how nice. Those lovely ladies in the Edinburgh Children's Bookshop have arranged for me to visit Bruntsfield Primary School on Tuesday 15th June. They should be winding down for the summer hols soon....so I'll stir things up for them a little! Summer hols....I know what you're thinking ..........All that Chess!!!!!!  Rx
